Audible: Audio Entertainment App Reviews

I dont write reviews that often and even regarding the audible app I honestly tend to use another app primarily for podcasts on a daily basis rather than use audible for lengthy books. I actually use audible more in spurts even though I do maintain a monthly subscription. The recent upgrade I just stumbled across which looks to be in beta offers something called "channels" which are sort of podcast like feeds (from excellent sources) which just may change my normal routine a bit. From my initial testing it appears to carry some very interesting content - This is a serious game changer for the Audible app.

LOVE Audible! However, get with the program & give us an Apple Watch App!!! Im waiting patiently

Works well. Wish I could customize the screen. Hate the change from bookmarks to clips.

Excellent app. Will be five stars once you can purchase books within the app. I still dont get that.

Been using audible everyday for the past two years or so. Its great!

Super intuitive and stable. Been using this for a couple of months, pretty much every day. No hiccups or crashes.

The Audiobooks.com app syncs perfectly between my desktop and devices. I love it. If you go with the subscription, you will definitely get you moneys worth. The selection of audio books is enormous and the sound quality is what you would expect from the audio book leader.

I love being able to change the speed of the reading. Whether the narrator talks slow, or has an accent I can adjust it accordingly. I can get through books a lot faster too with higher speeds!

Now that my kids are in college, I find myself taking long solo journeys. This app is great for keeping my mind engaged and alert. 5 star entertainment!

Update: we have moved back, up one star. Audible has added notes to the new clip feature! Thank you. But where do we delete them? Still looking for Chapter names and map to the actual book chapter names. --- What needs to be said regarding notes has been already said by others. Audible team clip feature at capability very cool! Creating clips as the new bookmark very cool - that is forward thinking! The however, is ignoring no takers, or diminishing at based on power users, or just making the choice of removing it... Whatever the case and has broken my personal workflow and why I use the Audible! Having hired teams of UI/UX (user experience) for large consumer apps I understand decisions that lead us to here. Based on the current reviews and feedback I ask and suggest the Audible team to bring back notes – I havent even looked at my past book and notes. Regarding chapter names why are they not there? It doesnt align with the book or kindle?

Bring back simple bookmarks please!!

1.) Increase 45 second clip feature to 3-minutes. 45 seconds cuts off stories and is too short to encourage others to spend money or time to listen. Canonical format: As a book listener, I want a 3 minute clip feature so that I can share a very small piece of a 16+ hour book that encourages a friend to purchase / listen. Since Im usually driving when listening it would be easier to edit the clip and share with a friend on your website (using a larger screen). Maybe a one step clip and email link to myself for slight adjustments. 2.) Automatically pause during *Google Maps* navigation voiceover to avoid missing dialogue just like it does with *Apple Maps*. Canonical format: As a book listener I want the audiobook to automatically pause during the *Google Maps* navigation voiceover (like it does for *Apple Maps*) so that I dont have to constantly miss dialogue and (more importantly) be dangerously distracted and attempting to rewind while driving. Please help save lives and vote below..

This is hands down one of the worst experiences Ive had with an app from a company actually takes peoples money. It has the worst, least-robust download manager Ive seen from any program in a long time. If I had a dollar for every time the download hung and gave me no way to recover without restarting the whole thing, Id have enough money to pay a better coder to write this. I like Audible as a service but this app fails it in almost every way possible except playback.

I just called a few days ago about how annoying it was to add a note to a clip. Whereas when it was just bookmarks it was super easy. This update was a great improvement. Thank you guys for listening.

Glad you brought back showing time bookmark/clip was added. My only issue now is with the fact some audiobooks are not available on Audible, but app seems to be working well.

I listen to books while I walk the dog, while Driving, cleaning the house...its my constant companion. I love this app!
