Audible: Audio Entertainment App Reviews

Its unthinkable that each book does not have an accurate table of contents. If I want to go back and listen to a specific section, because chapters are inaccurately numbered and do not match the chapters in the actual book, Im lost. Chapter listings should have the exact same text as that in the book. Also, when listening to a biography or a book that contains photographs, I feel VERY cheated that I do not have access to those photos. There must be some way for the chapter numbers in the player to be in sync with chapter numbers in the actual book. Player doesnt distinguish between preface or introduction, making all subsequent chapters incorrectly listed. Even worse, Im currently listening to a book with four parts, around 20 chapters for each, but the player lists only 83 chapters. Makes it difficult to find any specific sections.

I enjoy audible. I recently swapped back to iOS from Android and Im a bit disappointed that I cant hide finished titles. I have searched everywhere and looked online but it wont let me. I dont want to delete them off my phone one by one as sometimes I like to re-listen to books. My version does not seem to have a filter button that will allow me to hide these books.

So, I pay a lot of money for my Audible subscription. I appreciate being able to listen to books through the app. I also like being able to put books on my wish list (which you can do from the app). But view that wish list? Nice try you greedy app users! Not a chance. They do have 4 screens devoted to viewing your listening stats and Audible "badges". Oh goody! Spoiler alert app team: your users dont care about those. They just want to see their wish list. Please add the wish list and please do user testing in the future to figure out things like this before I have to beg and plead in a 3 star review.

This app is wonderful for listening to audiobooks but is lacking a few features. 1. The ability to view your wish list. Currently users have to exit the app, go to the Audible website, login, then view your wish list. This app allows you to add books to your wish list, but doesnt even let the user know if an audiobook has already been added to the wish list. 2. In-app purchases. Once again, the user has to exit the app, go to Audible.com and make purchases there. Adding in-app audiobook purchases possible would streamline the purchasing experience and would most likely bring in more money for Audible. 3. Adding different tiers of subscriptions. Currently, there is only one level of users subscription; $14.95/ month which gives users 30% discount on all audiobooks plus 1 free credit redeemable for a free audiobook once a month. I would personally LOVE to see subscription tier that allows users to access an infinite amount of content similar to Netflix. Coming up with a fair price point would be a challenge for Audible, but it has the potential to be absolutely amazing.

Absolutely love audible. I was never really a reader until audible came along. Ive read over 20 books this year and still going.

I love audiobooks and the Audible app is easy to use and reliable.

Can you make it so that you can login using Touch ID for iPhones?

Apparently, I need an Amazon account. I dont want people telling me what to do today so, just no. Sad!

Ive had this app for a while and I love the convenience. But as with most apps, it has gotten watered down as it trys to appeal to the masses. It would be nice if you could pick your version. But nothing beats being able to download a book from your library and give it a listen.

Excellent app! Im a busy working HR professional, pastors wife, and mom so my time is precious. This app helps me read while getting stuff done. And the sleep timer function is my fav. I can listen to my favorite author and think uplifting thoughts just before drifting off to sleep.

Ive used it for years: working in my yard or on long trips. I will never live long enough to actually read all that I want! I especially enjoy the different narrators, as they can make or break the stories. The wide variety of the literature that is offered by Audible is amazing. Love it!

Wish I could purchase with the app, but that is the only thing wanting.

Audible has made it possible for me to listen to words that inspire , encourage and entertain me wherever I go . From the new selections of books to my old favorites , their selection of books and quality of service make it possible for me to have access wherever I go around the world. I still enjoy holding a book but to use the most of my time , I choose audible the most !

I was never a strong reader and so therefore hated books. Nights and weekends included lots of TV and video games. After getting Audible, it made me fall in love with books for the first time in my life and I look forward to listening almost every day. Instead of a weekend on the couch, its actually made me put my headphones in and do stuff while Im listening. Cleaning the house doesnt feel monotonous anymore if Ive got a great book Im listening to while doing it. Same with exercising. I actually enjoy going for a long bike ride or run just to have an excuse to listen to my book. This app is amazing, has an incredible library, and has given me so much. Its even brought me closer with friends as we share our recommendations back and forth. A MUST HAVE APP!!!

I have listened to a number of books on Audible, my favorite being 1776. The experience has always been wonderful! I love how the app pauses when maps is talking and restarts automatically, that way I dont miss any of the book while following directions.

Has just about everything you would want in a "book on tape" app, except strangely, that ability to add new books. You have to go to the web interface for that.

and i like the note taking and skip back/forward functions
